Dr. Prashant Rajbhandari, PhD in Chemistry

Prashant-Rajbhandari

My name is Dr. Prashant Rajbhandari, though most of my students simply call me Prash. I am a dedicated and passionate educator with a strong background in both research and teaching. I earned my PhD in Chemistry from the University of Lille, France, before working as a Research Associate in the Materials Science and Engineering Department at the University of Sheffield for over four years. During that time, I supervised innovative projects, taught chemistry to undergraduate and postgraduate engineering students, and continued to tutor privately on a part-time basis.

To strengthen my teaching practice further, I completed a PGCE at the University of Nottingham, which greatly enhanced my classroom and one-to-one teaching skills. Over the years, I have had the privilege of working with several hundred students across different levels and abilities, both in-person and online, in countries including the UK, Singapore, USA, Russia, Hong Kong, China, UAE, and France. This wide-ranging experience has allowed me to adapt my methods to meet the unique needs and goals of each student.

My expertise extends beyond Science and Mathematics into exam preparation, including 11+ Maths, SATs, UK Independent School entry at 13+, and Independent School entry in the USA. Many of my students have gone on to achieve outstanding results and secure places at top schools.

My Teaching Philosophy & Qualities:

  • I believe that enjoyment and education should go hand-in-hand, making lessons engaging and motivating.
  • I focus on building students’ confidence as much as their subject knowledge.
  • I tailor my lessons to suit different learning styles and ambitions.
  • I balance exam-focused strategies with long-term academic growth.
  • I strive to create a positive, supportive, and inspiring learning environment.
